The Mission Commission Leadership Team is launching a new task force on “Mission in the Future” with the participation of mission leaders from different regions of the world. The main purpose of the task force is to look at the fast changes in the world realities today and how these will affect the missionary work in the coming years.
Piggybacking on the ShiftGlobal consultation in Budapest the Mission Commission Leadership Team have been meeting during this weekend. On the agenda are issues such as communication strategy, strengthening of national mission movements in Francophone Africa and Central Europe, strategic plan for the coming four years and MC events in 2013 and 2014. More information will be available soon.
The MC Leadership Team is meeting in Budapest over the weekend. We are grateful for new team member Adriaan Adams from South Africa.
In the days prior to the Team Meeting, several of us were involved in the GlobalSHIFT conference. The conference was put together by our own David Ruiz and his team at ReachGlobal.

The question in my mind is, what are the specific challenges that you face in your life and ministry and how these mega trends affect your particular situation? Our desire as MC is to continue highlighting relevant issues that may be important for us all. The latest production of the MC, the book Sorrow & Blood – Christian Mission in Context of Suffering, Persecution and Martyrdom, is certainly one good example that we take these trends seriously.
